The Range

Life on the range was hard. You needed determination, purpose, inspiration to make a life here. And to complete this ride, you’ll need all 3 as well.

This remarkable loop has been carefully routed to include all the best elements of The Gravel Experience:  stunning scenery, serious challenges, varied surfaces, and an incredible ride through one of the most beautiful areas in the world. This route includes open grasslands, dense forest of the Porcupine hills, sweeping views of the Rocky Mountains, 2-track ranch roads, and the incredible Skyline road (one of the best kept secrets in Alberta). There is a natural creek crossing on a private road through Burton’s Burke Creek Ranch est. 1890. A second natural creek crossing marks the beginning of flowing descent on Lyndon Creek Road.  An abandoned schoolhouse, single truss bridges, historic ranches are the only markers in this wilderness. The vast expansive views are abundant and special to The Range, as only those who experience it will know. Life was hard for the early pioneers, but you’ll see exactly why they made this wilderness home.
